I've been saving up my coppers since I started my TD - do I need to let my Trustee know that, as I've just counted them and it is over £200?

Thanks

I would suggest a trip to the local supermarket change machine might be in order.

I think so long as it doesn't make it into your bank account some discretion could be exercised here... Ahem...

Hi ScotsLad

Thanks for this - my laptop has died and was thinking this could be put towards it but spending a large sum of money is quite daunting now (whereas before I was extremely good at that)!!!

Hi Neverendingstory,

I don't see this as a problem. A budget should have been worked out at the start of your Trust Deed and if you decide to make some small savings from this over a period of time to purchase something that would be acceptable in my view.

Well think of it this way. At the start of the TD your expenses were worked out and you agreed to pay your remaining income into the TD right? Meaning any money you have saved has come from YOUR living expenses.

If I had to keep all my change from here and there to give it to my IP it would be a nightmare to manage... For them too!

Well done on saving that up - unfortunately my children seem to thieve all my change from me so I've no chance of saving it.

If your trustee was uptight enough to ask you for that money then at least you would have the pleasure of taking it down to their office and seeing their faces when you pour it out across the desk!

I wonder at what hourly rate counting coppers would have any benefit to creditors?!

Get it bagged up and changed at the post office. Those machines charge 9%.

You could even buy the laptop in tesco and hog the self service lane rattling small change into the slot! Is it twisted that that appeals to me?

Ha ha ha!!!

Well I took the plunge, put the money in the co-op after a painstakingly long coin counting session, and donation from the beloved, I am now the proud owner of an I-pad mini!!!

Very strange feeling to spend money without feeling guilty!!! But I love it.....

Now what to save for next......???
