Hi Guys

I wonder if someone can give me some advice. Our daughter is going on holiday abroad with her school and we planned on getting her a pre-loaded credit card so she doesn't have to carry cash everywhere. Before I start searching and possibly leaving a trail on my credit record, can I get even get one of these cards whilst in a PTD?

So many things we used to take for granted......we've got to think really carefully and not take anything for granted these days. But I've got to say that I'm loving this new frugal me! I've got birthday money to spend (not a lot) but I just can't bring myself to spend it on stuff that I feel that I don't need. 6 months ago, I'd have had that money spent in 30 seconds flat on yet another pair of shoes. Changed days indeed! [:)]

Anyhoo, back to my question - I'd really appreciate some advice about the pre-loaded card.

Pam

Hi pammy1969.

Nothing regarding your trust deed prevents you from obtaining a prepaid card for your daughter,

As it's prepaid there should be no credit checks for you to worry about either.

Be careful with that birthday money!

We used one that o2 issued but they have stopped them now. No credit given so dont worry about checks. Make sure you fully understand the fees for loading and using the carf. Plenty comparison sites if you web search them.

Thanks guys. I was beginning to think my post had offended someone! Why are you working after midnight TDA?!

I've used a Travelex card for holidays abroad so I'll look that up. And I'm pleased that I don't need to worry about a credit check.

I know - I think Trust Deed Assistant never sleeps, Pam.

I also note that her picture hasn't changed in all the years that this site has been running. I imagine that all of these sleepless nights helping others to deal with their problems must be taking their toll, so wonder whether she still looks so young and fresh-faced?!

Pammy try orange they have a card called orange cash card which is prepaid, which my friend claire swears by is terrific. She tops it up various ways, and uses it all over the place she also gets rewards too.

Hiya
Try Phone's 4 you.
They have a card called Escape. I have used it for a year and have found this to be the best thing ever. I can only use it if I put money on it first and thats easy to do as I just need to go into Post office or into the phone's 4 you shop itself.
I'll never get an actual credit card again with having this.
Hope this helps..
