Please can someone offer me some information!? I recently won my mis-sold PPI case. Oh good you may think..the loan was in both my husbands and my name and i was told by my trustees that if i signed a form saying it was okay for them to receive all the monies then they would send my husbands half by cheque. Now they are saying that as the PPI was only in my name (one of my arguments of the PPI being mis-sold as i thought we were both covered)that they will be keeping all the money - including the interest earned. can they do this?

Hi topc4t

I think this is extremely unfortunate in the way it was handled, especially promising the half share as I assume that they would have known in whose name it was. However as the policy was in a single name, I think it is unlikely that there could be a valid claim.

Hi topc4t, welcome to the forum,

I am not an expert on PPI, but I think if it is in your name only, then the Trustee will be able to keep it. It is not uncommon for insurance on loans to only cover the first person named on the loan. Was this the case for you?

That said, the ppi paid out only with your assistance. I think even a token payment would not be out of order.
