Hi, Just a general question. If I moved back to my parents house would my credit file have any effect on future loans my parents may take out (apply for). Also would an IP send my form 5 to their address if I moved or would I be better getting that first before the move?

Hi sparky1.

Only if you were financially associated with them via a joint financial arrangement of some sort.

Your IP will write to the current address that they hold for you.

Hi TDA

I seem to remember there was a form of disassociation in the old days if there was any confusion over identity. Not sure if this is still relevant or not.

Hi Mark,

You can still complete a financial disassociation form with the credit reference agencies. I helped someone complete this recently with Experian and it's pretty straight forward. It can take a couple of weeks for the disassociation to be reflected on the credit file.

I think you can only do that if you are actually financially disassociated though.

For example, if you had a joint bank account or mortgage it's hard to see how you could deny a financial association.
