Hi Im new to the forum. Ive been in my TD for about 1 1/2 years and things are going well.
My accommodation is a private let which I moved to in a bit of a hurry after marital breakdown. Its really damp and does not have any central heating. Ive just seen a suitable flat to let which is ยฃ25.00 per month more expensive than where I am now. Would my TD people object to me moving as the rent is dearer. Last winter was just freezing for my kids and they spend alot of time shivering under duvets and ideally I want to move before winter comes along.
Also, being in the middle of my TD I was thinking that credit checks that Landlords carry out might be another stumbling block. Does anyone have any experience of this?
Welcome to the forum downandout.
I'd just go for it if the rent is affordable. Where you live is up to you.

As long as you can still make your payments then I don't see how the trustee could have a problem with it. Fingers crossed that you are able to make it happen, downandout.
Do you have anybody who would act as a guarantor? I moved into a new rented flat about 5 months into my trust deed and my Dad agreed to be a guarantor so I didnt need to worry about result of credit check
I moved at the start of my trust deed and had a credit check done with the letting agency. For whatever reason they said they were happy with the result of it. Hope you get the same result!
Glad that's over with....
Hi downandout,
I don't see any problem either with moving as long as you can maintain your agreed contributions.
I have a number of clients who have had to change rented accommodation during the Trust Deed without any problems. I've also been asked to supply a letter to a landlord confirming that the client has made all of their agreed payments.
If you do move, remember and update your Trustee with your new contact details.

I told the letting agent up front that the results of the credit check would be nasty. I explained to him what a trust deed was and how it worked, and that if anything it meant I was less of a risk now. He was happy with that, and I got the new place no problem.
I dont think the difference of ยฃ25 will be the issue, but the credit check.
As Mathlete says, however there is always hope if you are up front.
