I got a couple of letters from Lloyds TSB this morning saying the following:

We are writing to notify you that Lloyds TSB has assigned all of it's respective rights, title and interest in respect of the above referenced account (including outstanding balance) to TTI SPC acting on behalf of and for the account of its SP5 segregated portfolio (SP5), effective 30/12/2011.

Main question is what does all that mean?

I wonder how many other people got that very same letter and have the same confused look on their faces at the moment.

Lots given that the 2 of us have. I just cant see the point in them selling on a debt thats just about to receive a dividend payment on it,then vanish(I hope).

Not a nasty letter in the slightest, the very opposite in fact, and at least has nice contact info for the data controller to make cleaning up the credit file easier!!

Yep, I think I'll keep all of these. They have account numbers on them - I chucked anything related to my debts and who to contact to sort out the wrong dates on my credit file. I know I have a wide variety of default dates from the month my trust deed became protected till 9 months later.

The wife and I even have 2 different dates for our TD's becoming protected!! The default dates from egg are comical and they too have sold things on so lots of chasing to be done. Still waiting to come off the AiB register of trust deeds, keep checking every day!!!!

Just spoken to a lovely lady at RSM Tenon called Nicola who has asked me to forward the letters to ensure the dividends are paid to the correct parties. She says its not unusual but it is rather late in the day to be doing this as they are in the process of closing my trust deed down!!

That's brilliant! I'll pop mine in the post to Invocas and let them deal with it. Must remember to take a note of the account numbers before that though.

I also got a few of these letters today. I'm waiting for my PTD discharge letter and opened these up expecting one of them to be it and i was scratching my head at why i was getting these through the door. Oh well as long as my discharge letter comes i ain't gonna worry.

I imagine that a large batch of debts have been sold on all at the same time. Would be interesting to know how much Lloyds TSB are being paid for them - wouldn't surprise me if it is less than they are likely to get from the trust deed dividends due in just a few weeks!

They must know how much they are going to get but would the company buying the debts be entitled to know beforehand what the expected return is going to be?

As long as those buying the debt dont start trying to chase me for money,I dont give a hoot what tsb do with my account, and by the wording of the letters thats not the intention.
