what is the longest term a trust deed could/has run for .i had a letter from barclays saying unless i pay secured loan they will not let me out of trust deed was nearly finished in april i dont think i will be now?
It isn't up to barclays whether you are discharged from your trust deed or not, maverick267.
Forgive me if we have discussed this before on here with you, but what are the circumstances? Is their debt secured against your current home, or a shortfall on a previous property?
loan secured on home current property ,till i find a cave lol
Secured loans aren't part of Trust Deeds, are they?
Hi Jinty
No, they are excluded and rely on their security.

yes i,ve been making payments not missed any or to trust deed.thye are asking for full amount
Haven't you been paying the secured loan during your trust deed then, maverick?
the secured creditor do not take part in the Trust Deed unless the property has equity and is a realisable asset. They can not prevent you from being discharge, only the Trustee has the power to do this.

as above yes all payments paid none missed
have not missed either loan or trust deed payments
Could it be that Barclays hold 2nd charge over the property and don't think that it woule realise enough to see thier charge cleared?
as i said the letter states the full amount of £----- must be paid by date +handling fee £180 or Barclays will not agree to release you from trust deed i have spoken to trustee but they cannot seem to find the letter i sent
Creditors have no say whatsoever in whether the trust deed is discharged or not.
From your post I would be surprised if a bank issued a letter like this as they would be leaving themselves open to legal action.
