I have recently joined this site and made a few postings, primarily out of indignation at some of the postings made by one of the experts on here, namely Mark, which attempts to trash other practitioners and firms. There is a lot wrong with this industry and much that needs fixed, we all know that. However, most people I know in this industry try and do the best for our clients and have our different ways of working. I have worked with some of the experts on here and have referred clients onto some in days past, because I trust them. That remains the case today. I would happily vouch for them and most know mwe. I have also been responsible for the training of some of the previous experts on here who have now moved on. In posting on this site I have not publicly identified myself or the firm I work for out of courtesy to the firms who are involved in this site and seek to get work from it. I am all in favour of consumers getting best advice, but I do stop at bad mouthing other practitioners or firms because occassionally they get it wrong, as I believe I have shown even Trust Deed Experts like Mark can. The true value of a practitioner is in their ability to fix mistakes and we should all allow them to do that when they do. I don't intend to keep posting as I am too busy anyway, but out of courtesy to the other experts on here. Just wanted to say, let's do it right for the people that matter and strive to do better and remember its easy to find faults, its harder to do it right.
Bye then. And no, you're wrong, it's actually easier to do it right.

Mark, you don't do your partners in Wylie Bisset, Henderson Loggie or RMS Tenon justice.
Just been checking, Payplan's turnover last year was ยฃ30 million, with profits of ยฃ4 million. That's a big firm to accuse of incompetent legal practices on a public forum. You may not care, but just wondering if the other firms in control of this site dont care also?
Good morning Robinhood.
Maybe I should change the title of this thread to 5th LAST POST!
Mark made a point. You disagree with the point and explained why. We've got that now. In fact we'd got it yesterday when I asked that this stop and you seemingly agreed.
If you want to carry this on any further, for whatever reason, you'll need to take it offline.
Neither myself or any of the other experts on the site appear to have been involved in this thread. I would guess for obvious reasons. In relation to myself I can confirm I know "Robinhood" and am aware of the immense input he has had in a past life to Money Advice in Scotland, along with others at Money Advice Scotland (especially Yvonne), whilst working to a shoestring budget. It is a forum which brings about debate which is good for us as "experts" (a term I dont really like - we strive to be experts in an ever changing world but none of us, to my belief, are Insolvency Practitioners)and more importantly is good for the clients. Notwithstanding neither myself or Wylie & Bisset will enter into any threads that criticises other firms or practices - that is not for us to do as we have legal bodies who are quite able to perform that role. What we as a firm will strive to do is if any client was to criticise us on the site we will attempt to resolve the situation satisfactorily or alternatively explain the reasoning behind the decision so that the client is more informed of process. Everyone gets things wrong at some time (to err is human - as the saying goes) - it is how it is dealt with thereafter. As for Payplan I have known the firm for a long time and used them in a previous life (Royal Navy) for administering DMPs - largest deliverer of IVAs south of the Border and subject to inspections from regulatory bodies the same as us in Scotland. I think that is enough said on the subject.

Hi Chris
I have never met Robinhood/Alan McIntosh @ Carrington Dean previously and doubt I will in the future.
From its commencement the forum is about opinion and discussion. Nothing more and nothing less. However when opinion turns into quite embarrassing personal 'digs' for ulterior motives and then fake posts to try and prove a point then the forum loses its focus and that to me is sad.

While I very rarely post on here, this site has been a support, reasurrance and invaluable source for me through a difficult time. I am really suprised and frankly upset by the level of vitriol that seems to have been directed at Mark. I have always taken much heart from his proffesionalism, humour and willingness to give his time. While I am looked after very well by Kevin and RSM, I am sure I am not the only silent reader who notices how much Mark gives. Take heart Mark that there are people out here who like me, respect and thank you for your hard work. Your a bit of a hero to me!!! Hugs to you

I totally agree with Rach68. This forum has been a great use to myself through a bad time and I am on it nearly every day to just see what is going on. Any time Mark or any other expert have put a comment on a thread I have created at no time have they tried to sell me there business. They have only given me advice as honestly as the could. I just wish I had found this site 3 years ago. I thank them for all there hard work especially TDA..
I have to say that the time Mark puts into this forum is tremendous. It is a 'question and answer' service, intended to increase the understanding of debt solutions, and on the whole, it does exactly that. Go and polish your halo Mark!!

Mark is prepared to comment on issues and use his own name - as do all the experts whereas other people who work within in the industry are prepared to come on and enter into a discussion from behind a user name. To me, it seems massively unprofessional. I understand there will be disagreements between professionals - there have been experts on here who have disagreed with each other but it doesn't spiral the way the most recent thread has. If I was someone looking for help, that thread may have put me off looking any further through the site to find out how fab and helpful it is.
And incase offence is caused - TDA, you're allowed your username as you have the working ability of 20 people and have control of everyone else on this site.[;)]
Nothing left to discharge - everything's done and dusted!
Nooooooo, don't shatter the illusion!
We think of you as the Sergei of the debt management world, forever attached to your laptopamabob whilst solving all out issues.
Nothing left to discharge - everything's done and dusted!
From what has been done to help me I must say thank you mark . From trying to put money aside to pay for your time and effort , and then being told no charge ! its a most humbling passage . With due respect to Robin hood I have been put on the right path , which would never had been shown to me until I saw this forum and have had the time and effort which has been put in by Mark . Maybe its another case of moving from the dark unto the light .[^]
