The day we never thought would come is finally here......£900 out of our account for the last payment to out trust deeds!!
All we have now is the £500 equity payment each (pre this fab forum or we would have chose a firm who didn't do this!) & whatever our car is worth over £1000 (I know this is now £3k but we signed before the changes),
Would love to have a good celebration but as our payment came off 28th of every month just as we get paid, I'm afraid it's another skint month, but hey ho definitely over the worst!!
We are living proof that even major (and believe me ours were HUGE) debt can be overcome.
Hope everyone's time in their TD's goes in as quickly as ours....
Hi boys2111,
Well done on coming this far in your Trust Deeds and the completion of these.
I really do enjoy reading the success stories of people who have struggled financially and been able to get back on track. People believe that a Trust Deed it's too good to be true but it actually does work.
£900 per month is a substantial payment to pay and I'm sure the extra money will come in handy especially being a couple of months away from Christmas. Tesco are now selling Christmas stuff and we are not even out of August yet.
Good luck for the future and enjoy the extra money. Maybe a wee bottle of wine as Kevin said to celebrate.

Thanks for that Kevin & David
We aren't really drinkers & particularly don't like wine !!! Might have a wee look round M&S to see if they have their "dine in" offer on (the wine from this deal ends up going as presents at Christmas etc)!!
You are so right David, £900 is a big chunk out of our wages, we have struggled a fair bit over the 3 years but have still managed a good enough lifestyle. We have been married almost 20 years & once we are officially discharged, that will be the first time in all our married life we have been debt free!!!! Scary stuff
Planning to try to save £500-600 a month, after we enjoy a good Christmas that is....[:D]
Congratulations on getting to the end of your TD boys1211
Wow you'll feel so relieved being debt free with 20yrs of it.
Good luck for the future hope your discharge will be quick.
Completed 3yr TD Sept '12 discharged Sept '12. Trustee discharged Jan '13
Building up savings.
Thanks for that twiddle !!!
Hoping I will soon be able to update my profile on here to include our discharge date !!! Bet it feels good to have a savings account....can't wait !!!
Hi boys
Another good post on the start, middle and completion of a Trust Deed.
It shows that if it's done properly and everything is agreed at the start, then it should be a fairly straightforward process.
