Thanks for advice.
I will wait to see if they contact me by the end of the week. If not, then i will send in a letter of complaint. Is there a set format for this type of letter? Or do i just have to state that i am not happy with the length of time it is taking for discharge. Administrator i spoke to this morning stated that no payments have even been made to my creditors yet!

Things may be a little chaotic there if a recent merger is still being dealt with. I'm sure they'll be working hard to get everything moving again, but it does seem unfair that you've been waiting so long.
There's no standard letter of complaint (if that is what you choose to do). I'd just suggest that you set out your concerns and request that they are promptly addressed and/or responded to.

I absolutely know that some firms are trying to make a case for a claim where none exists. I also know for certain that there are people who were sold PPI, agreed to buy it and pay extra but were not eligible for the benefit of such cover. I class that as mis-selling as much as a hidden entry in the multi-line breakdown on some loan papers.
There are also many people to whom it wasn't made clear that the chances of being accepted for the loan did not in any way depend on taking the insurance. So although they may have agreed to the cover and understood the cost, it was still sold under false pretences.
Hi All
I still have not got anything back from them. I did get a letter asking to confirm that I had been miss sold PPI. I did confirm that I new I was buying it and was not miss sold anything. I had two debts with the same company, one with PPI and one without. I made a conscious decision not to take PPI on the loan but did on the Credit Card.
Having made my final payment in December 2011 and I do have written confirmation saying I do not owe any money, it gets frustrating and would love to see and end to it all.
Yes. It was September 2008
Hi NearlyFinished.
In that case our experts believe that your trust deed firm can discharge you even if VAT and PPI matters remain outstanding.
I can only really advise you to carry on pushing them to get on with it given that this is the case.
Ok, Great. Will chase again and let you know outcomes.
Yes you should be discharged since your Trust Deed was signed in September 2008. The Trustee can work on your case even after your discharged.
With regards to PPI, it is not just as straight forward as whether you knew you had it, as others have mentioned, there are other factots like eligibilty & whether you would have got the loan had you not taken PPI. The firms concerned look at previous loans. This is because many people have taken out consolodation loans, and the loans which they consolidated, may also have had PPI!!! It is a minefield, but should not stop you being discharged if your Trust Deed was signed after April 2008.

I received some news today.
They are pursuing PPI (Despite me confirming that I had not been miss sold anything) and secondly it is due to VAT issues.
They have promised to get my a discharge in the next 8 weeks, however they do not think they will be discharged for longer.
Again disappointed after doing everything right, I am still waiting for this to process to finish 5 months later and potentially 7 months from my final payment.
Frustrated.
I am guessing that from a credit point of view, my file will not show discharge till the trustee is discharged? How does this effect things going forward? What dates count when it comes to rebuilding credit?
Hi NearlyFinished.
I don't know which will be the key date for your discharge on your credit file, this is all quite new as long delays between your discharge and that of your trustee didn't use to happen like they might now.
On balance I think the discharge of your trustee following dividends being paid to your creditors will be important in terms of what they will report to the credit reference agencies.
I'm sorry to hear you will have to wait longer but at least an expectation has been set now.
Hi Nearly Finished.
I finished my TD in 2009 and hunted down loads of info with regards to dates on credit report etc.
The date that really matters is the date your TD started as it will be 6 years from this date that it will drop off your credit report, no matter what date of discharge. Also all your creditors that were part of your TD should have the same default date on file - this should be the date your TD was signed. If not, write to all of them to get this amended. You can do this before discharge.
Your discharge date will make a difference to getting credit (to rebuild your credit rating) before your 6 years is up and everything falls off your credit report.
Also, once discharged write to all your creditors as your report should state that these accounts are now settled.
There are some good template letters on moneysavingexpert for this.
Thanks Blacklily. Great tips and info
