Made my last payment of PTD in October 2011 and still have not been discharged because of this PPI nonsense.KPMG the company dealing with my trust deed have become very unhelpful and downright rude when I contacted them to resolve this. Has anyone else had similar experiences with this company ? I feel I have to name and shame them as a TD is a bad enough experience without them and I will name them again,KPMG Glasgow, thinking they can extend it for as long as they see fit. Come on this is people's lives you are messing up!! Yes I got myself into such a mess but I signed up for 3 and a half years not for as long as you want to make it last.
SHAME ON YOU KPMG !!

Welcome to the forum scotland28.

May I ask at what stage the PPI claims were initiated, and also when you originally signed your trust deed?

I do not know when they were initiated as I have had no contact from KPMG since my last payment in October 2011. Signed my trust deed in May 2008. Hope this helps.

Hi scotland28.

My understanding is that you can be discharged from your trust deed now so long as all your obligations are met.

The rules changed in April 2008 I think. Your trustee can remain in office to deal with the PPI claims but discharge you.

I have had dealings with KPMG whilst in a ptd with them but recently had major problems with them but For totally different reasons than yourself but i found that they say one thing and do another. They also have a habit of not noting call's you have made to them on there system so when you bring it up again at a later date they say we have no record to this. My advice would be make sure everything is in writing and sent by recorded delivery to keep you right then they can't say you have not been in contact to them regarding the situation.

Now 1 week since I sent a recorded delivery letter to Mr Blair Nimmo of KPMG.As yet he has not even acknowledged receipt of the letter let alone replied to it. How ironical this situation is becoming the very company that was supposed to get my debt sorted out is going to push me back into debt As I intend to pursue this with the help of a lawyer. It is nearly 6 months since I completed my end of the contract, without one missed payment ,and KPMG have not yet contacted me . They don't even have the manners to reply to my letter. I feel it is time somebody tried to stand up to these rogue companies otherwise countless others could go through what I am experiencing . It is very hard to understand when you read on this forum that someone made their last payment in January and were discharged in February. It is time clear guidelines were set out and all companies deal with trust deeds in the same manner.

Hi scotland28

As tda said, if you signed after april 2008, there is no reason why you cannot be discharged and they remain in office to sort out any ppi issues

Hi Mark
Thanks for that , it seems after extensive research everyone agrees there is no reason for me not to be discharged except KPMG. When will this end it seems they can extend the TD as they see fit , why not extend it another 20 years on the off chance I might win the lottery , this is how stupid this has become. Would making a formal complaint to ICAS help as I am at my wits end and don't know what to do next. I just want to draw a line under this and get on with my life.
Thanks

Hi scotland28

My advice would be a recorded delivery letter explaining that they can actually discharge you and remain in office for the ppi stuff and threatento report matters to their governing body unless matters are dealt with.

I guess its a bad day when you need to advise your trustee on procedures!

reading over the forum this seems to be an ongoing problem for people. im in the same position myself scotland28. mine was signed after april 2008 too and still im waiting on discharge due to PPI stuff. im not too comfortable with writing to my trustee to tell him he should be following procedures though.

his company has lost business from at least 3 of my friends though who knew i was in a trust deed and asked me for details. i made sure they went elsewhere.

edited to add- the company isn't KPMG

Hi Andy
Thanks for the post. I would write to the queen if I thought it would get results because at the end of the day they are in the wrong not me. I have tried reasoning with them and got nowhere so now I intend going to ICAS to have them investigate. After that who knows but one thing is for sure I will never give up. Like you with your company I will do my best to make sure KPMG never deal with another trust deed. So anyone reading this take heed you have been warned.

dont be afraid to ruffle feathers at your trust deed firm by making a complaint!!!

I was discharged and my trustee has remained in office to allow ppi chasing to occur,no excuse for you to not be discharged.

Paul

Trust deed completed Jan 2012,Trustee discharge Nov 2012.
A new dawn.

Hi Paul
I have never been afraid to ruffle feathers in my experience it's the only way to get results. If you sit back and do nothing you get walked all over and you are regarded as an easy target. So needless to say letter has already been written to ICAS and will be sent tomorrow .

Hi scotland28.

It's possible that ICAS would expect you to have exhausted the firms own complaints procedure before delving too far into a complaint.

Why don't you ask them for a copy of their complaints process so you know how and when you should expect for your concerns to be responded to?
