Hi
I'm hoping someone can advise on what the situation will be with a joint debt once my trust deed has been completed and the creditor paid from the trust?
This debt is obviously included in my TD and my partner, who is jointly liable is paying an agreed part payment. Will we both remain jointly liable after my TD has ended if a balance remain?
Thanks
Domino
Hi Domino
No, your responsibility finishes when you are discharged.
The responsibility for the debt passes to the other party who will be liable for the full debt, less any dividend payment made by the trustee.

Hi Domino99.
Once you're discharged you'll no longer owe anything towards that joint debt.
The other borrower will remain responsible for the full remaining balance (which will hopefully have reduced through their own contributions and also from a dividend from your trust deed).
Hi Domino,
Mark and TDA have clarified things for you hopefully.
When I looked at the posts by both of you (Mark & TDA), you posted at exactly the same time. 11:40:12. First time I've seen that I think on the forum.

Thanks so much for your responses. I was hoping that would be the case!
Hi TDA
Your responses are far too logical & well written to be mine. I knew that Higher latin would never come in useful!
