Hi I started my protected trust deed in June 2012 and felt I could breath again. Since them we still continue to get letter after letter, its as if the companies have not been notified of the trust deed. Does anyone have experience on this in the 1st year. Also I am getting letter from other Debt companies saying they have bought the debt & we need to pay them!
Dont worry about the letters. Simply forward them to your trustee to deal with. Relax under the protection of the trust deed.
Out of interest what creditors are still sending letters out?

A new dawn.
All of them have at some point sent letters & most have passed the debt on to other companies. I Think the only one to just send a letter saying they know about the trust deed & will send an annual statement were MBNA.
I started to wonder if the TD company even contacted these companies to inform them about the TD as they are all sending letter.
The trust deed firm will have informed all listed creditors but many creditors will be large firms with many departments and a shoddy internal mailing system meaning it can take time for the people issuing snotty letters to find out about thr trust deed.

I got letter for about 6 months after I got protected. Take into account if you weren't in default or late with anything when you signed. Add a month on to that as well. There were some stragglers with mine - MBNA and Santander (still having issues, their fault). They'll sell your debt on and you'll get letters from them. You'll also get phone calls and cards through the door saying that someone'll visit. Ignore these and let your trustee know. You're protected now so they can't do anything about it other than waste time and paper contacting you.
Nothing left to discharge - everything's done and dusted!
Barclaycard just recently sold on our credit card debt which no longer exists!!! Pity the fool that bought the debt!!

Santander seem to be my annoyance. They're the only one still marked in default. I'll need to dig my form 5 back out and send another letter off.

As others have said, get your trustee to chase up any that ares till contacting you. if you pass on the letters then they can be sure that they are contacting exactly the right department/firm
Creditors are notorious for not communicating within their own organisation.
Someone can have a credit card, overdraft and a loan all with the same creditor. The client will continue to receive letters for the credit card but nothing for the overdraft or loan.
Best to always send in any correspondence that you receive chasing you for your debts so that your Trustee can issue letters to the correct department. Once that department updates their system you can normally guarantee a debt collection company will start sending you letters and the process starts again...
