Hi Maureen

It's meant to be 'Forthwith' which certainly should be sent within 7 days of receipt of the paperwork.

We have seen a few occasions where advertising trust deeds is held up for a little while Maureen.

Are you awaiting the advertisement of your trust deed?

Hi Maureen

The legislation says 'forthwith' after receiving the Trust Deed paperwork. The interpretation of forthwith is immediately after receipt and we use 7 days as a maximum time period for this.

My advice would be to phone them and hassle them, as the 5 week period for creditors starts from the gazette Ad, not the date you signed.

Maureen it is a weird feeling when it is posted. I have to say it worried me who would see it and what would they think but in reality nobody said a word. Do not think it is a paper that most people buy. At least that is now another thing done xx

Thanks for the reassurance! I have tried googling myself and it didn't come up thankfully! Congrats on making it out the other end of this process. Well done. 3 years seems a long time but I am hoping it will fly by. Good luck for your future Maureen

Honestly Maureen it seems a lifetime at the beginning but the time goes in quickly. It will be hard at times but not as hard as dealing with mountains of debt.

It might be worth going onto the Edinburgh Gazette website to ensure your advert has been posted as they said. I was also worried about people knowing about my financial difficulties and the fact that it was made public however not one person has mentioned it so I'm hopeful not a lot of general public know about the Edinburgh Gazette!
