Hi graham

You should have been automatically discharged from the bankruptcy in October 2012 after 1 year. I wonder if they are checking your credit file.

It's actually a good idea to list companies, from people's experiences, who provide insurance without any post sequestration issues.

I have my contents insurance with Morethan. I went through their terms and conditions with a fine tooth comb and when I couldn't find anything about bankruptcy, TDs or IVAs I called and asked them, they said there was no issue

That's good to know saabrina about Morethan. Its small details like home insurance, car insurance, a contact mobile phone bill that people don't automatically think will be affected by entering into a Trust Deed or Sequestration. Normally it isn't but there at the occasions like graham has advised where it can be frustrating.

I used Swinton and asked them about TD's etc - they had no problem with it.

Don't they all do that Paul?

This year is the first time in as long as I can remember that I haven't received a ridiculous car insurance renewal quote.

The first time I had to renew after signing my TD Swinton was the only insurer that I could find that would allow me to pay monthly and the price was bang on too. At renewal last year I'd been on a comparison website, phoned them up and told them their quote was cheaper on the website than the renewal they sent me. The guy went through the quote and matched the price, it was only about a fiver a month less, but I asked for it and I got it. I've had no problems, renewal due in the next day or 2, we'll see what it's like this time
