I finished my trust deed in 2010. Does it come off my credit file next year.
I have just booked my wedding fro 2014 and paid a deposit. The venue has sent a contract stating that if anyone either bride or groom was declared bankrupt or owe anything to creditors they can cancel.
How do is stand. Do I still owe creditors. Does it still show on my credit file. My partner does not know about my trust deed. I am scared the venu will cancel. Can anyone please help me . Thank you so much. Friend

Hi Friend

It should come off your file 6 years from when the TD started.

I wouldn't worry too much, these things on contracts are fairly standard and if you've paid the deposit, then that's normally security enough. I've never known a credit check to be done in these circumstances.

Something else that might put your mind at rest -
Deposit is paid, you will have agreed terms and conditions which will include details of when final payments are to be paid, usually 2-4 weeks prior and they will include the cancellation terms. They aren't giving you any credit and would expect all incidental charges to be settled on the day. Don't worry and enjoy making your plans

Presumably the clause gives them a right of cancellation should you be made bankrupt etc. If you were discharged from your debts 2 years ago then I am sure that you will be fine
