Hi
My step dad has offered us the chance to buy a static caravan, she is paying for it but it will be in our name. How does this stand with a TD? She is aware we are in this but wants to be sure if we get this that the creditors cant get this?
We only have a year or so to do so could wait until we are all done before we do this.
Advise please???
I'm not sure if you should be telling anyone your Step Dad is a she[:0]
Hi Chillypink
I think you'll need to be careful as the could be claimed as aquirenda ie an asset obtained before discharge.
Best option would be to buy it but keep it in his/her/their name.

Hi Chillypink,
Static caravans are excellent holidays nowadays and a good chance to get away. We try to get away once or twice a year if we can in one by collecting the vouchers in the sun newspaper. We are booked in October to go away actually.
As Mark said you want to be careful regarding this. Best thing is for your step dad to buy it and allow you the use of it.
Tinsoldider รรรด your pickup on this made me laugh after a tough & long week.

LOL at Tinsoldier! Thanks for the feedback, don't know what I would do without this site for advice
Don't Don't Don't :o)sign it your own name or you can kiss your caravanning holidays bye bye. Wait to your completely discharged first. My parents have a tourer caravan which is great. Statics (just another house to keep in my opinion) wont you get bored being in the same place all the time? whereas a tourer you can just hitch up and hit the road!
