Hi,
A couple of the debts I owed where to payday lenders. I have my Trust deed protected, however, the lenders keep passing the details on to different debt collecting agencies or in one case have sold the debt a couple of times. Each time I get hounded by another company who wont contact the IP unless I supply a whole load of information.
how do I deal with this, the latest one today has told me a doorstep collection agent will be out within days unless I pay up. Should I just bite the bullet and pass on the details every time one of these nupmties call?
Thanks
Hi bobsa
This is not something you should be dealing with. Pass the details on to your trustee and let them resolve this.
Doorstep collection is a nonsense as they require to go through the court process before doing anything and can't as the Trust Deed is in place.
You should get a contact number and reference each time and pass this to your trustee.

Thanks Mark,
It's been starting to wear me down to be honest. I have reported a couple of the companies to the OFT for the methods they have been using.
I'll send the details on to the trustee.

Hi bobsa
Its the fear of the unknown thats the killer with these kind os calls. However they can do nothing at all and please be rest assured that the threats are idle threats.
You should pass on the details and ensure the Trustee's office hounds them until they update their system and stop calling.

You shouldn't be getting any communication at all from these firms but try not to worry, you are in a protected trust deed and are dealing with your debts.
As for doorstep collection, in the highly unlikely event someone does pay a visit, you are under no obligation to speak to them whatsoever. They have no more power than the common man. As I say, there's little to no chance of anyone calling anyway.
It's a good point tinsoldier.
If a doorstep collector turns up (which they generally won't) you can just smile sweetly at them and wish them a good day.
There's nothing (NOTHING) that they can do. They're generally just used to try to trace people that have "gone missing" on lenders.
tinsoldier....It's not easy to deal with the worry at times, been there got the t.shirt.
I was told not to worry about the doorstep man as that only happens in England. I never got a such a visit. My advice is to relax and pass your worries on to your trustee who is there to help you. Sure you will keep on getting phone calls - I was still getting them in year two but not anymore this is purely down to big banks not communicating with each other.
If you get a phone call ask the persons name, direct number, email, fax number so your trustee can target them directly and give them a good sorting out.
Phone them, tell them you are putting them on hold for a few minutes, then blast some loud music down the phone.[;)]
