My PTD ends with KPMG on 3/1/2013 but after reading some experiences on here I'm worried. When the 36 months end will they continue charging me if they decide to pursue a PPI claim? If I don't get discharged does this mean I can't cancel the standing order I pay to them each month?

I've tried phoning them to ask these questions but no one has gotten back to me![:(]

Trust Deed started January 2010.
Finished January 2013.

Hi Slayervixen.

The subjects of the agreed monthly payments and any possible PPI claims are separate.

Once you've fulfilled your agreement on the monthly payments that side of things is finished.

I hope there will not be any delays in your discharge, but if there were that would not mean that you would have to make extra monthly payments in addition to those which were originally agreed.

Can I ask why do firms, some of them, seem to wait until the end of the PTD before claiming for any possible PPI?
These claims should be answered within a a couple of months, so why not do it more timely fashion to coincide with the end of the PTD term - or even better, way before the end of the term?

That would seem pretty sensible JintyMcSkinty.

In recent times many firms have been trying to catch up once it became clear they were expected to do this, so I guess some delays were inevitable during the transition.

There must however come a point at which firms should be able to do this early enough that discharge complications dont arise later.

It's not as if it takes a lot of time and effort.

They could even visit the moneysavingexpert and download the templates ;o)

I think that it would be best practice for IP firms to pursue this at the start once all the paperwork is signed. They have all the account numbers anyway so it would make sense. I understand that as this is the next step on from unfair bank charges that some of us have been hit with this late in the proceedings. There needs to be something official that puts the onus on the IP to get a resolution on this early on.

Nothing left to discharge - everything's done and dusted!

Encouraging them to start looking at the PPI situation now could be in your best interests.

From what we have read on other threads this firm may not discharge you until the PPI process is completed. They're free to come on here and correct that if the impression I've gained is incorrect.

It amazes me that people cannot, despite numerous attempts, either speak with their ip directly or even worse, speak with anyone. Once the agreed payments have been made, there should be no delay in discharging the individual. The Form 5 discharge takes no more than 5 minutes.

I have never spoken with my IP! All his letters give me a name of somebody to speak to with any queries (this name is different with every letter!) Never managed to speak to that named person either! In fact have never managed to speak to anybody at KPMG who has been directly able to answer a question!

I never spoke to Kenny Craig my trustee at RSM Tenon, but never felt he was out of bounds to me,and had I been unhappy at all with my case managers,I am sure I would have been able to talk to him.
