Welcome to the forum bigmaz,

Congratulations on completing your trust deed.

In general we've found Co-op Bank to be excellent for both personal and business account needs.

Other visitors may be able to add details of business bank accounts that they have set up...

Their basic "Cashminder" personal account is available to persons in bankruptcy and trust deeds.
It's a fee-free fully functional bank account with a debit card.

I'm less certain on the detail of the business accounts but their overall ethos seems to be much more inclusive than most other banks. If your business joins the Federation of Small Businsses you'll get the business banking free with some extra bonuses as well.

Just to make it clear. I'm not on commission from Co-op or the FSB!

I am just off the phone to the co-op, as soon as I said about the Trust Deed she said there was no point going ahead, and fair play to the lassie, she went away and asked about her bosses, and they all said they would not take me on. :o(

Sorry to hear that. There may be other visitors with personal experience of this, or the experts may have some other suggestions based upon the experiences of their former clients...

Sorry, can't offer much advice on this topic I'm afraid. I wonder if it might be worthwhile calling someone like Business Debtline, they might know?

Hi bigmaz,

I had an issue with getting a business bank account once i was discharged too. HBOS outright rejected me.

However, RBS accepted me. They have a 'Foundation business' current account which is aimed at no/poor trading history or those directors with a poor credit rating. You also get 2 years free banking !!

I also believe they are inclined to accept you due to the terms of the government bailout and helping small business etc.

HTH,
Chris.

That's excellent information Chris... as you can see it was a question that we weren't previously able to immediately offer an answer to. Thank you for sharing the information.

(p.s. We have a "no links" rule in the forum - sadly links can be abused by a minority - but I think your post contained all of the information required to locate the account via a web-search.)

Thanks Chris

I am not technically out of my Trust Deed yet, I still need to be discharged. So need to wait till Next month before RBS give me an account. They have been very helpful.

Cheers
