I got my form 5 discharge letter yesterday, yippee. So happy but I'm just unsure what to do next. How long should I leave it before trying to rebuild my credit? Any advise would be great. Thanks

You can start to rebuild your credit worthiness right away but until the trust deed drops off your efforts will barely reward you.

A credit card like vanquis used carefully can give some nice green ticks on your file.

Give it a few weeks and your file entries should start showing as satisfactory or settled. You could also check no defaults are dated after your td became protected.

After that its just a waiting game. Our TDs have just in the last few days fallen off our credit files but our scores have yet to improve greatly(only used noodle as its free).

Hi Dredd,

Well done on successfully completing your Trust Deed! Must be a great feeling!

For everyone starting out on a Trust Deed it can feel like a long path ahead but once they come to the end most people always feel that it's been a quick 3 years.

Best wishes for the future and enjoy the extra money!
