Form 5 arrived today and I so pleased. Used Buchanan Roxburgh which was merged with Carrington Dean and have nothing but praise for them.

They answered all my questions and explained everything fully to me. I know it will take a wee while longer for everything to be finally sorted. But bloody hell what a great feeling.

thanks to this Forum for all the advise, will pop in to see if I can help anyone going through same nightmare.

Happy Days

And just think. You'll have more money on your next payday with no more contributions. Hope you treat yourself a little.

Nothing left to discharge - everything's done and dusted!

Congrats Buddyup,

All going well I will have 6 payments left till conclusion of my Trust Deed.

As I can see light at the end of the tunnel I`m thinking these next 6 months are going to be slow in counting down. Did you feel this way?

I`m not complaining though as starting a TD was a godsend for me and dread to think where I`d be today without discovering this website.

To all the experts and fellow `trustdeediers` ( is that a word ? )on here a big thank-you for the advice & contributions you have posted....

Enjoy your family get-together in London Buddyup..

156 days 7 hrs 55mins 23 secs to go !!! But hey who`s counting !!

Often when I sit with someone at their initial assessment they say "it's too good to be true" and "there must be a catch".

If done correctly and set up in the right way with all available options explained and everything confirmed in writing before proceeding, a Trust Deed should run smoothly and without any major problems.

It's always good to hear the positive stories of someone completing their Trust Deed.

Can't agree with you more Chris, the secret is not to be afraid to ask anything, something you might think of as stupid,is not, remember we have all felt that way, and probably asked the same questions.Trust deed completed 25th jan 2013.Just waiting for the trustee to be discharged,do they notify you when this happens, or do you just keep checking on the AIB site.

Hi jimmybee.

I'm not sure whether they have to inform you, or whether some firms might choose to inform you out of courtesy. Hopefully one of our experts will confirm.

Checking the register every couple of weeks seems like a good idea, though in reality it should make little or no practical difference to you whether they are discharged or not.

Thanks for all messages not sure how long it will be before my Trustee is discharged but to be honest, I am not bothered. I have no plans ever to get credit again, knowing i faced up dealt with it and am now on the otherside feels great. I need to get a new car but going to buy what I can afford and that will only be when this old car dies on me. no credit cards + no overdrafts and no finance, no worries.
