Hi
I signed my TD in August 2011 so coming up to my second year. I got home today to a letter with my first financial review. Last Sept I e-mailed my contact to ask about my review as I was told I'd get reviewed every year but I never heard anything and then to be honest I forgot all about it. I've noticed in this letter that my contact has changed and although still at RSM Tenon my contact has moved from Glasgow to Inverness, I wonder if this is why I never had a reply last year?
I'm not sure if this letter is the normal template letter for a review but it comes across as a bit severe. Warning me that I must cooperate with the trustees request, they only have to ask, this letter is more threatening than some of my creditors letters were to start with.
Hi alphab
I wouldn't worry too much. Sometimes we are required to include various statements in letters in terms of guidance, rights obligations etc. best just complete and submit as normal.

Hi AlphaB,
It's funny you should speak about the wording of the review letter as we had our usual weekly team meeting yesterday and what you mention about the letter was brought up. It was felt that the wording was a little intimidating but as Mark said, we have got to cover the bases and ensure that we are advising you of everything and that you must continue to co-operate etc.
I wouldn't look too much into it or worry as it really is just a standard letter.
I'm sure Kevin will be along shortly to advise on the internals of RSM Tenon.

Hi, I wonder if anyone can tell me how long you normally have to wait to find out the result of you income/expenditure review. Sent my first review in 4 weeks ago and not heard anything.
Hi Alphab
Probably no news is good news. If there's no material changes to your income and expenditure then things should stay the same.
On the wording of standard letters, I used to work for a firm 20+ years ago where every sequestration case was required to receive a 1st letter telling them their rights and obligations in sequestration. It had the worst typo ive ever seen. One part warned if they concealed assets they would ' be subject to a fire or imprisonment or both' It should obviously have read ' subject to a fine...'

Hi AlphaB
Thanks for your feedback about the wording of the letter - I'll pass it on and maybe the template can be amended.
4 weeks does seem a bit long to not hear anything back, which makes me worry that something may possibly have gone astray in the post. Best to contact your case manager and check they received your form back and they will be able to confirm the situation for you.
