Hi, I finished trust deed January 2022 bit received letter from Hoist finance stating they had acquired my debt from another company in October 2022. I don't recognise any of the information. My question is why if I completed trust deed is this happening? Contacted trust deed Scotland waiting on someone calling me back.ย

Good morning @lee-anne welcome to the Forum.

It is possible that one of your original creditors that were included in your Trust Deed have sold the debt on to Hoist Finance. This is quite common, and it may be that records have not been updated to show that your Trust Deed is now closed. As you have already contacted your Trustee, they will be able to advise you what the original creditor was, and you can ask them to contact Hoist on your behalf to advise that the Trust Deed is now closed. You can also once you establish that the original creditor was included in your Trust Deed contact Hoist Finance yourself and advise them that your Trust Deed is closed.

It's annoying but quite common unfortunately - a by-product of the fact that some firms processes aren't what they should be.ย  Don't worry though, I'm sure you'll be able to get it sorted out pretty quickly.
