Hello Again
I have just checked my credit file on the free site noddle and found that 3 of my accounts are still marked as in default. How can this be as I have a subscription to equifax and they show all my accounts as being satisfied.Should I be concerned about this, if so how do I put it right as the lenders have clearly marked accounts as satisfied according to equifax but not noddle.Which one do I believe ? How can 2 credit agencies have two completely different reports about my financial status.? Can anyone shed any light on this.
Thanks in advance.

Hi scotland28.

I think it's as simple as some credit reference agencies being more up to date and accurate than others.

You may need to ask the lenders to update each of the CRAs.

I've tried noodle ( no laughing at the back!) a couple of times and it doesn't go through.

Slightly unnerving giving out your details and then nothing happens!

Noddle - https://www.trust-deed.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2880 discussed earlier.
Not the slickest website to use but it is free, they deduct a fee but its not actually costing you the amount.

It's worth using free options on all agencies as different lenders use each one. I think it's not useful to check too early or too often, it will just give you something else to worry about. Credit-worthiness is shot for the foreseeable and no bad thing.

I won't even check again until out the other side.

It might need letters to each agency to highlight out of date information, or letters to individual creditors, or both?

Not equifax or noddle it should be both used and experian as well to ensure nothing is left lurking away in the corner or a credit file somewhere.

Hi Paul

It's an interesting post that shows that credit files are not an exact science and like most things, we are at the mercy of whoever inputs the information.

Correct Mark. It amazes me that the 3 main agencies can get the same information yet all report it differently! !
