My trust deed finished 6 months ago and I received my letter confirming that I have been released but the trustee would not be released immediately.

I wrote to the trustee to confirm that everything was now complete and he was released from being trustee.

I received a letter back saying not only was he not released but there was an investigation into PPI and meantime I was not allowed to aquire or sell any assets.

Very Confused

Hi GG10

Its quite normal for the Trustee to remain in office after your discharge to finalise things. This has no effect on your discharge.

As for the aquiring/selling assets bit, that's garbage. Aquirenda ( acquiring assets after the trust deed is signed) ceases when you are discharged not the Trustee.

Hello GG10 and welcome.

This is actually quite common. Trust deed providers have been instructed by their regulators to see whether PPI claims can boost returns to creditors of a trust deed.

Many will discharge their client while they finish this work, as has happened with you.

Others refuse to discharge their client while they do this, which has naturally caused some anger and resentment for several people that have written about this here.

Hi

I was discharged in April 2012 but my Trustee still hasnt discharged himself as he is looking into mis-sold PPI.
How long they take to do this i dont know??
Keep your discharge letter in a safe place just incase you need it to prove youve been discharged.
