After having a Trustdeed and not getting credit it makes you save!!

When you actually hand over hard earned cash the feeling of satisfaction and 'i did it' is great!!

I have just decorated my livingroom and bought a new suite and furniture (All paid Cash [:)]) and it has made me appreciate what i have so much more!! [:)]

I think its because i had to work hard for it and do overtime and save hard to get it and not just get it on 'tick'.

Well done macaulay956 !!

You are so right !! When we were drowning in debt & couldn't see any way out, I admit that I used to use credit cards & think well another Β£100 won't make a difference when we already owe thousands !!! What a stinking, stupid attitude that was !!! Now, we think before we hand over cash, do we need it??? Being in control of money is a great feeling....

Hi boys1211

Im like that too!! I need to get a new kettle n have spent half the morning looking online to see where has the best deal!!! llf
Its a kettle for goodness sake BUT this is the frame of mind i have now.

Yeah, before it was far to easy for me to get credit. Didnt help that at that time i got a house and my boyfriend then moved in with me who was 'blacklisted' so i got the bank loans for decorating n carpeting the house in my name along with already having HP on my car.
Lesson Learnt there anyway!!!
Stay single llf

well done macaulay956, that's what its all about. That should be the target for all the members on the forum going through a TD, that feeling is priceless, no credit card can buy that!

I think its nice to share wee stories like mine.
People that have read it that are still paying a Trustdeed off and are struggling and feel like its never ending can see that there is light at the end of the tunnel and its worth it all in the end [:)]

I agree with you macualay956 about sharing stories like this. It does give people hope that a light is at the end of a tunnel and again highlights that a Trust Deed does work if set up currently.

Still maintain that getting a TD is the best decison we ever mead bar none !!! Only regret is we didn't do it sooner but I really did my research as I was terrified !!!

Would say to anyone who is considering it, do your homework & then if u decide it's the way to go & it's the best thing for you, the 3 years will fly in & you will never look back.

I lost my Dad a year into the TD & honestly think if we still would have the huge debts hanging over our heads I wouldn't have coped with his death the way I did. Being in unmanageable debt is one of the most stressful & worrying places to be !!

I've read on here a few comments that folk question people's agendas on here ie are they secretly working for debt companies etc !!! I can assure you, that I am sitting on the couch with my wee dog, whilst the kids & hubby are asleep, & I'm contemplating doing my ironing !! Thats as far as my secret life goes !!!

The vast majority of people who post on here I'm certain are just ordinary folk who are decent enough to share advice with others cos we know what it's like to have crushing debts !!

Now, where's that ironing basket..........!!!

No one ever does when the first discuss and enter into a Trust Deed. They never realise how many people are in the same situation as them and that it's extremely common. I always get the "it just sounds too good to be true". If I had a penny for every time someone said that...

I knew i was doing it thats why i voluntarily gave the HP car back 1st. Once that was gone i got my trust deed.
I have to admit when i got mine in 2009 i hadnt heard of anybody else having 1. I felt embarrased n ashamed cause i had to get 1 but everybody else seemed to be managing!! I couldnt figure out why i had to get help but nobody else seemed to be??
Further down the line now the roles appear to have reversed. People are asking me about when i had my trust deed and applying where as i have been there n done that n can kick back n put my feet up with no money worries!!! πŸ™‚
If anybody thinks am a snoop then sorry im not llf
Im still in my pj's and murder she wrote is on the tv llf
