Hi. I am nearing the end of my PTD. Have been advised that the case is with the closure team and being dealt with. Now that I am getting to the end of this chapter I would like to make some future plans the first being joining my pension scheme at work. Is this something that I would be okay to do or am I best to wait until I have been discharged?

Thanks[:)]

Hi Newbie

I think its probably best to leave till after you have been discharged.

You could ask your trustee about it Newbie65.

If they're happy with it and confirm that then perhaps it's worth going ahead.

If you have made your last contribution payment then I see no reason why you shouldn't start making such arrangements straightaway.

I'm in the pension scheme at my work, shouldn't I be? I assume my TD company will be aware of this as its on my pay slip?

Hi TimeLord.

I doubt there will be a problem if it's out in the open and the contribution level is acceptable to your trustee.

The sort of problem that could arise is where someone gets a pay increase, doesn't tell their trustee, and directs the money into a pension.
