Received my Form 5 .Many thanks to those offered advice to one very frightened guy.
To those thinking of taking the step, do it.
its been hard, but i have come out the other side with a different outlook.
If I dont have the money,I save!
Last question, can i send the Form 5 to Equifax etc, and will they update my file

All the best to to you all and thanks again

You dont need to send the form 5. Things should clear up on their own but keep it handy just in case.

Its an amazing feeling to be finished isnt it?!

Well done on getting to the other side.

And for those stsrting out or muddling through a ptd take inspiration and carry on, you do get there eventually.

Hi armani1981

Great news and exactly how it should be. A proposal is made and on completion of your part of the deal, the Trustee keeps his and proceeds with the discharge. It's the way it should be.

Not sure about the credit side as I would have though that the mark fell off automatically after year 6.

All the best for the future.

Mark

Hi Armani1981,

Well done on the completion of your Trust Deed. Often we hear about the problems in Trust Deed's and not the positive feedback.

I would watch your credit file to see if it improves on its own. If not, you can always send away your Form 5 with a letter confirming you have completed your Trust Deed and been discharged requesting they update your file.

Yes.
I made some very silly decisions over the years.
We managed to keep our house, with no equity paid.
Dont try and keep up with the Joneses! They are probalby up to their necks in it!!!
THe work you guys do on here and the advice given is a real godsend.
Entering into a PTD is very scary and is not easy, but with some discpline you will get there.

Hi everybody, not been on the site for a while,a question that concerns me,I have read in some comments, when your td is finished it seems to ta ke in some cases up to 11 mths or more to be finally discharged, why is this, what more is there to be gained.

Hi johnd.

There have been two main issues:

1: A lack of clarity about VAT on trust deeds.
2: Recovering PPI to help repay creditors.

This doesn't stop every firm from discharging their client promptly though.

The delay is down to your trustee investigating any mis-sold ppi that can be claimed to increase the return to creditors. That shouldnt delay your own discharge as your trustee can discharge you but they remain in office until everything is done and dusted.
