After 2 and a half years I have finally come to the end of my TD. It was originally due to finish in March however my parents have very kindly paid off the remaining balance so that I could end it a bit quicker. Received my Form 5 the other day which confirmed my discharge from September. It has been a process that I have always thought was right for me and although hard at times to budget and in the beginning to come to terms with my debt problem, it has always been a light at the end of the tunnel and a way forward to be in control of my finances and life again. For those struggling with debt please always remember there is a way forward, you are never alone. Without the support of my family, my Trustee and the help of this forum I could never have gotten through it. If you are thinking of going into a TD, do your research and make sure its right for you and that you are comfortable with the whole process and although you may think that the end is still a way off, the time really does fly in. Over the years I have found this forum to be a massive help through the experts knowledge and also the support from them and others who contribute to it. To all of you I say a massive thanks for your work and help you have provided not only for me but for everyone who has joined this forum.:)

Hello Headwire.

Congratulations on the completion of your protected trust deed. It must be a big relief to be able to start putting all of this behind you?

Thanks for your kind words about the forum. I'm really pleased if we've played a small part in helping you to reach this point.

That's brilliant Headwire. It doesn't seem long ago at all that you first came on to the forum and then set up your Trust Deed. I am very pleased that it has worked out for you as we discussed back then.

I'm sure there will be many others out there thinking of going down the same route as you did, so feedback from people like yourself who have been through it is invaluable.

Best of luck for the future!

Hi Headwire,

Well done on reaching this point and successfully completing your Trust Deed.

As Kevin said it's feedback from people who have been struggling with debts and entered into a Trust Deed that really can help others who are financially struggling take positive steps in asking for help and advice.

Best wishes for the future and enjoy being debt free.

Hi Headwire

Glad it all worked out and especially completing that wee bit earlier than planned.

There was a post yesterday about finalising a trust deed early, so hopefully your post shows it can be done.

All the best for the future.

Mark

Thanks everyone for your support and kind words. Also want to say a big thank you to Kevin as it was you that I had first point of contact with when I originally set up the TD with RSM Tenon. You and the staff there really helped put my mind at ease as I entered into the TD. It made a massive difference being able to openly talk about my situation without feeling judged.

It is a good feeling to put it all behind me and start off fresh. It's also proved to my self that with help and support, I've learnt to manage my finances properly.

I think a couple of beers to celebrate this weekend are in order!
