Hi

I made a final payment to my Trust Deed on Sept 2014. Because they had started a PPI claim with Clydesdale Bank, they did not get the discharge until the end of last year completed.

I have looked at my credit report and the majority of the debtors still show as default even though it has been closed and accepted.

How do I resolve?

Hi shellgall

Your Trustee does not notify the credit reference agencies that the trust deed is complete.

Your Creditors are responsible for ensuring their entries are accurate with the Credit Reference Agencies, which they are required to do in accordance with the Data Protection Act. That can take some time, and not all understand or take the time to align the default dates with the Trust Deed date.

So, you need to check each entry to ensure it matches the signing date of the Trust Deed.

They will remain as Defaulted on your credit file for six years after the default date.

If they do not match or are not close, write or call each one and ask them to correct it to the Trust Deed signing date and to show the account as Satisfied (S) or Partially Satisfied (PS), in accorfdance with the Data Protection Act. Provide them with a copy of Form 5 showing signing start date and completion date.

Six years from each default date, the account will completely disappear from your credit reference file.

Don't worry about the payment record 'circles'. They also disappear with the account.

The Trust Deed 'trumps' everything as far as credit reference files are concerned so your plan is to get the others to align.

Hope that makes sense. Good luck.

Welcome to the forum shellgall.

I just wanted to add a note that I very much agree with the information that Firewalker has already provided.
