I entered into my trust deed 6 years ago this January and I was told that my credit rating would improve after 6 years (currently 1 out of 5) however there are still a number of creditors who did not agree my trust deed showing on my report. Will these automatically remove after 6 years or do I need to do something?

I am unsure what you mean by creditors 'did not agree my trust deed showing on my report'.

With regard to your Credit report, you need to check the Default date showing against each creditor. Often the date is different to the date the Trust Deed was signed (which is the correct default date).

Defaults will fall off your credit report 6 months after the default date, so that date is important. If the default dates are correct, then the defaulted accounts should fall off automatically.

If the dates are incorrect (more than a few weeks after the signing date of Trust Deed) you will need to contact each creditor to request they correct the default date. YOu may need to provide them with a copy of your Trust Deed agreement showing the signed date, or the discharge which actually shows both.

Good luck. It wont be long until it is cleared and your credit report will improve.

Welcome to the forum Kevyboy73.

You've had great insight from Firewalker already, but I think there might be a typo in there related to 6 months rather than 6 years (we've all done it!).

Basically, all qualifying creditors that existed when your trust deed was signed are included - whether they agreed to it or not.

Regarding these creditors that still show - have they issued default notices?

Oops. Sorry Kevyboy. It was indeed a typo. 6 years! Thanks TDA.

No worries Firewalker.

Some of my aberrations here over the years have been off the scale compared to that!

I take it your trust deed was successfully protected despite the creditor objections, Kevyboy? As the others have said, they are included whether they like it or not if that is the case and have to update your credit report appropriately.
