I have checked my credit file and my trust deed is on as discharged. One of my creditors are still on as defaulted. Just ask long will that be on as defaulted?

Also when I look on AIB register is only showing when my trust deed started. Is it meant to show when it is discharged?

Hi emma99.

Anything that goes on your credit file will stay there for six years, unless you spot an error and persuade the creditor to correct or update it.

If the Register of Insolvencies doesn't show a discharge date for you there may be a problem you might raise with your trustee and/or the AIB.

Hi emma99

As Trust Deed Assistant says, if you are meant to be discharged already then there should be a date showing on the Register. If it isn't there then hopefully it is just an oversight, but you really should check with your Trustee.

Hi emma99

This seems to confirm what we thought from the previous posts that the Trustee has not sent out Form 5, although appears to have sent out Form 6 seeking his own discharge.

I think you need to get on to the Trustee and ask exactly what the position is with Form 5 and if/when it was sent.

Do I contact the one creditor that is showing default and the amount of money that I owed? Or am I better waiting to see if it will change.

I going to contact AIB about it not showing discharge date.

The dealing I have had with trustee don't feel I could phone them.

Hi emma99.

If you've only just been discharged you might want to hold off for a month or two to see if the creditor does the update themselves.

Likewise, the AIB might take a day or two to register the Form 5 sent to them.

Hi Emma99,

Well done on successfully completing your Trust Deed receiving your Form 5!

As others have said, wait a couple of months for things to update on your credit report and then you can take steps to try and ensure that anything that isn't correct is updated.

Firewalker another forum user has written a lot of useful posts for people on the forum about trying to ensure their credit file was accurately reported. You can use the search function to find all of Firewalkers posts which I'm sure you will find useful.
