I've been out of my trust deed now for just about 1 year. Life is so much better debt free. However I've been contacted by a company who tells me they can check to see if I paid too much into my trust deed and possibly get me money back. Is it possible that this might be true. I paid £700 per month for 4 years plus I had around £9000 in PPI returns paid in and my creditors ended up getting back around 0.66 back for every £.I'm not being asked to pay this company anything but I don't want to waste time if it's not a credible possibility. Can anyone give me some advice please. [:X]

Hi buffytennant.

Obviously I don't know exactly what this company is proposing to do, but it sounds utterly ridiculous.

That's certainly a strange one.

A pound to a penny, the call would lead to something completely different.

Hi buffytennant,

It's a bit of a strange one. I've heard radio adverts recently about mis-sold debt management plans and the possibility of compensation claims. I think this relates to the unregulated debt management plans and not necessarily the regulated plans such a Trust Deeds, Sequestration or the Debt Arrangement Scheme.

It's interesting that the company believe there could be a possible compensation claim under your Trust Deed. I'm not sure how this could be the case.

I suspect that like Mark has suggested the call may lead to something totally different.

If you do decide to proceed with a claim please make sure that you don't pay any upfront fees and read the full terms and conditions of any agreement you enter into.

I'd also be interested to hear feedback from you about this if you do decide to take it forward.

Hi Guys
Thanks so much for your replies. I thought it sounded ridiculous and I've since discovered the company does want £10 upfront and another £10 for administrative fees such as postage etc.
So you can imagine my response. Thanks to my trust deed I now realize my hard earned money isn't to be wasted and i know and appreciate where every penny now gets spent.
