CLOSURE PROCESS

I have paid a lump sum to close my TD and my Trustee says that he has to obtain claims from all of my creditors.

I seem to remember that in some of the reviews that I had that the claims from some of my creditors was 0.

Why then if they couldn't be bothered making a claim when the trust deed was running should I have my discharge delayed as the Trustee chases up the creditors who have not submitted a claim previously?

It would make more sense if there was a time limit for claims to stop this happening.

Incidentally another reason for delay in closure was that they could not commence the process was that they had to wait for the cheque from my solicitor to clear. I was told that it took 11 days for the cheque to clear? Unfortunately I have no way of disproving this.

Hi gresgow

There's nothing to stop the Trustee issuing you with Form 5, discharging ou and remaining as Trustee to finalise the Trust Deed.

Hi gresgow.

Any cheque can bounce for a surprisingly long time after it has been presented, even if the funds have apparently appeared in your account.

Emailed my Relationship Manager in relation to what Mark said I also phoned him yesterday. I was told that they couldn't start discharge process as stated before. Then I got an email from TD company today from a different person saying they were ready to start discharge process and they just wanted to confirm my current address. Baffling.

Hi gresgow.

A bit confusing, but sounds like you're on the very final stretch.
