Being the lovely girlfriend that I am and obviously with the beloved's birthday coming up, I decided to order him the top that he had been admiring.

Duly went on the website, added said top to my basket and went to checkout. Filled in all my personal details and waited for the form to input card details.... Shock horror "congratulations your application for an account has been accepted" popped up - so I now have a catalogue account with 15 months left on my TD!!!

After I fell off my chair, and managed to pick up my debit card after it slipped out my sweaty hands, I paid for the top so my account shows nil!

Really shocked that I got credit so now need to close down the account lol.

On a brighter note, my temporary job has become permanent - yay!!!! [:D]

I'd be tempted to keep it open as long as your not leaving a balance it will be good for your credit files.

Well done on the job front.

Hmmmm. Doesn't sound as though the initial application/acceptance stage is really quite how it is presented.

Perhaps that should be made a little clearer?

Funny you mention this, I just logged into my next account (not part of my TD as I didn't owe anything on it) and I now have a ยฃ300 credit limit, rather than the 0 that I had last time I checked.

Don't intend to use it but it's a bit odd that it's there!

Next put a block on my account because of my Trust Deed despite always paying my bill in full on time
