Hi Guys,
just wondered if anyone could advise on above. Aware there are those out there who have succeeded and those who have not
i wondered if the you had your credit reports updated to show "satisfied" debts before applying?
my car is ready to die. i was in one of theses pcp deals with renault finance before entering my trust deed. the car wasn't included and renault finance allowed me to refinance the baloon payment.
last payment due in march but as i said car on last legs
Is it worth approaching? has anyone had any similar dealings?

Hi lewpy.

We've heard from people that have had success, and who have been rejected, from a wide variety of car finance providers. It's going to be a case of trial and error I'm afraid.

Your debts being "satisfied" clearly cannot do any harm, though whether it's actually of any benefit will depend upon the acceptance criteria being used by any particular finance provider. This will be just one of very many factors that might be considered.

Who would have thought it was that easy.

Go online and fill in your form, get your money and then fly over to Australia to pick up your car!

I know I shouldn't laugh....it might be cheaper to get it shipped over from Australia than going there to pick it up! Am looking to change my car soon so am keen to hear how others are getting on....

many dealers will know of finance companies to approach if your credit history isnt squeaky clean so it may be worth mentioning that you may have some defaults etc on file.

Not sure whether to mention a trust deed outright.

I am waiting until the TD drops out of sight before we bother with car finance, although we managed to secure a loan with bank of mum to change my car last year.(0% APR).

I was wondering if anyone has managed to obtain a car while in/just out of a trust deed.

I seem to remember one company in a posting a while back, although the rates would appear to be have been on the high side. You would have thought normal HP or lease would have been less of a risk, however it seems to be a straight no with most companies.
