Hi people!!! Wonder if anyone can suggest how I can go about changing my car???? I have 2 payments left to make (please God......will be sooooooo happy!!!!!!!) have nursed my wee car through last few months but it's truly unlikely to last much longer. Are there any car dealers anyone can recommend who would take me on?? Would be happy with a Hire Purchase/lease type deal but have no idea where to start???? Will have an extra ยฃ263 in my bank account every month from June, would be happy to donate some of it for a wee motor!!!!!! Best wishes to everyone who either going through or been through TD and Happy Easter!!!!!!!

Hi annypanny.

If you search around online you'll find some finance companies that will take on clients with poor credit histories. The interest costs can be a little off-putting though.

Once you've been discharged the deals available may improve a little.

Thanks TDA, I did a search recently but best I came up with was some credit company that would provide me a ยฃ7k car for over ยฃ20k in charges!!!!!!! Ehhh no thanks!!!!!! Would a HP deal still need full credit check which would therefore exclude me???

Hire purchase will be credit checked, though the lender has more security so may sometimes lend where an unsecured lender might not.

If your old car can last a few more months maybe you could save up for something cheap as an interim measure? Would buy some time for your creditworthiness to improve.

I think most dealers will do credit checks, although you would think there would be less risk with a PCP deal as they retain ownership and get it back after 3 years.

Always hated the term PCP deal, sounds like some American drug thing!!

If you could get a family member to take the credit on for you it will save a fortune!!
