Hi I was wondering if you can help me.
My husband is unemployed & as debts of roughly 30k can a trust deed be set up for him if i am willing to pay this for him (i'm working full time) also i have a debt of 10k could we get a joint trust deed?
Thanks
Hi meryl1
You could make payment of the contribution for your husband in a Trust Deed. However you would be unable to do this if youwere also to sign as your own creditors would demand the full amount from you towards their debts.
Hope this helps.

Hello meryl1 and welcome to the trust deed forum.
Just to add to Mark's comments, there is technically no such thing as a joint trust deed.
Often couples will both enter trust deeds where their joint income, expenditure and assets are co-ordinated to create two individual trust deeds.
Equally couples sometimes will find that they are best served by each selecting different options. For example it's not uncommon for one party to enter a trust deed and the other choose the debt arrangement scheme.
Hi Meryl1
If your husband is currently unemployed and has no assets I would suggest that he should maybe look in to bankruptcy, however he should seek advice from a money advisor or insolvency practitioner first.
