I spoke with Capital One about a week or so ago and informed them that I was entering a trust deed. This was after the bloke on the phone being rather nasty. Anyways. I gave him the information on who was handling it. I thought(niavely) that was the end of it..
Ahhh well I have today started to receive several calls from the same 0800 number when I looked it up on whocallsme.com it is definately Capital One.
I was informed that my notice will be in the Gazette this Friday. I am unsure what to do about these calls. Should I phone back and re iterate that i've already phone and given the info that im entering a trust deed.. do i just ignore the calls... do i call my trustee? As I am still in the early stages of the whole thing I'm really unsure what to do. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Amerfifer

All these matters should be referred to your Trustee who should be in a position to fax over a copy of the TD to stop the calls, pending the receipt of the Gazette advert.

Make them work for their money!

Hi Amerififer

Unfortunately it can often take a wee while for the calls and letters to stop once you have signed the Trust Deed. ItÔÇÖs amazing how often the initial letter notifying the creditors of the Trust Deed or even faxes seem to ÔÇÿdisappearÔÇÖ! As Mark suggests however if you continue to get persistent phone calls let your Trustee know and forward any paperwork that you receive.

Hey,

I have a debt with Capital One and they were one of the worst!
To let you know, I entered a PTD in March this year and the calls, from various creditors, with various threats, only ended at the end of July.
You WILL have a lot of hassle, refer them to your Trustee and when all else fails I found that being polite really worked !
It will grind you down and make you feel ill but there is ,light at the end of the tunnel,
BEEN THERE DONE THAT !
NEVER AGAIN
good luck my friend

My experience regarding calls from creditors was that as soon as I informed them that I had actually signed the Trust deed and gave them the date and details of the TDC acting on my behalf then they were very polite and a couple even wished me well!!! honest. After 3 weeks of the TD being signed all calls and letters stopped. Not counting my chickens though cos if the TD is not protected then no doubt there will a queue waiting for me!! Good luck

Usually they will continue to call untill the trusted has been finalised however if they do still continue then you can certain get the td to contact them and advise them of the law in regards to this.
