Or unless you stop payments and the Trustee is required to. Please also be aware however that a notice is placed on the Register of Insolvencies. This is a public online register. Whilst not checked by a great many workplaces it would be checked by financial institutions etc.

There aren't really any items of expenditure that aren't allowable as such. A problem only arises if your spending breaches the guidelines in any particular area, in which case there would need to be good justification.

So tobacco and sports are both fine, but there is a chance that your expenditure would have to be capped.

As Voice of reason says, your employer would not be notified as a matter of course. Occasionally people may have clauses in their contract to say that they must inform their employer if they enter this type of procedure (usually professional of financial type jobs - for example I have such a clause in my own contract) in which case it is your own responsibility to do so.

HI macrae1,

Try not to over think things in relation to your budget or what you can/can’t spend money on. A good expert will be able to very quickly re-assure you about this.

The budget is pretty inclusive of most of the expenditure that a person has and it only becomes a problem when your spending in a particular category exceeds the maximum spending limit. Even then if it does exceed the maximum spending limit but there is a valid reason for this then it can be accepted.

As others have said it’s extremely unlikely that your employer would be notified about your Trust Deed. This would only happen if there was a breakdown in payments or co-operation from your side.
