Hi everyone, i am now at the stage in the TD process where I need to change my bank account before signing my TD papers. My question is this:-
My husband and I have joint banking with Clydesdale to whom we owe money. I also have a current account with Santander (no money owed). Would it be ok to transfer all my dealings to this account or would it be better to move to a cash account elsewhere? Would Barclays be a safe bet (would like the security of having a local branch).
Thanks,
Worrieme

Hi worriedme

I think your Santander account will be fine as long as its a basic account.

There's nothing to stop you transferring it all to this account, but open up another one just in case. I normally recommend Nationwide basic account as there are never any problems.

The co-op cashminder is a good one also, dont worry about lack of branches as the post office can be used for deposits. I have used the co-op for 3 and a half years and never set foot in a branch.

Good luck.
