ive just entered sequestration and today discovered my bank accounts have been suspended can anyone recommend a bank that will accept me as i need to get child tax credits and child benefit paid into.
Hi annie.
Is it a permanent suspension or temporary?
Three accounts we think are worth a look are described at:
i dont know the bank have suspended them but ive had no correspondance from them as to why
I got a basic bank account with the Royal Bank at the beginning of my trust deed. They were extremely helpful. My trust deed ended in 2009 and they then upgraded the account and have since upgraded it again. My previous bank was Lloyds TSB, who suspended my account without warning. Now, I wouldn't go back to them if I won the lottery lol.
Good luck in getting your account sorted out/changed.
onwards and upwards!

Pity your were not warned this could happen. When are the child allowance and tax credits due to go in,because it can take a while for the benefits people to swap account details if you do open a new account.

Your account may have just been suspended temporary and transfered to there accounts team. when i contacted royal bank about what would happen with my current account if i entered sequestration. I was told when they are informed weather you owe them money or not they transfer the account to there accounts team to assess if you are a risk to continue as a customer. They can take weeks to determine in there views if they can continue to have the person as a customer and they dont necessarily have to inform you right away but will do eventually by post. I wasn't impressed by that. I went and opened a basic account with Barclays which came with a debit card, i have full direct debit options and so on just like a normal account. i explained the situation to the lady and she made an appointment to open an account for me, it is the perfect account for anyone entering into sequestration or has allready entered into sequestration as thats what its created for.
