I got accepted for both the other day, which is on top of the Vanquis one I have had for two years now.

Really surprised at this as my TD does not drop off my credit file till end of September. Anyone had a similar experience? Applied for Luma/Capital One three times before and got knocked back. Discovered emails from Aqua going back a couple of months inviting me to apply (after being declined a while back).

Still waiting on credit limits but will post back once known.

That's interesting CIF.

The following article is getting on for three years old now, but it seems much of it remains true:

Hi CIF

My Trust Deed is due to drop off credit files in August.

I applied for an Aqua card - after numerous e-mails.
I was successful with £600 credit limit. After 2 or 3 months it was increased to £900.

Objective was to have a period of positive credit showing when the TD fell off.

I also have Next card showing positive use. Again, approved after discharge but before it is removed from my credit file.

I still receive e-mails from them offering me a card lol.

Having spoken to a few friends over last few days I think it depends on different factors including whether or not your debt appears on your file as still in default or wether the creditors have marked it partially settled, all the companies my friend had debt with updated her credit file to show partial settlements and she's got several credit accounts now helping rebuild her credit file, she was saying she was buying vouchers with her store cards and putting them
By for Christmas birthdays etc so many per month then clearing the cards means she's got some in the cupboard if an unexpected gift opportunity comes up you know what your getting lol ie when our friends got engaged they got next gift card, myself on other hand all my debt is still showing in my file and I've no chance of obtaining anything although I've now got one card from vanquis to work on

Michelle the majority of mine are still showing default and I was discharged in January 2014.

Seems there are no clear rules.

Ouch that's not good, although speaking with the AIB over the last two weeks of you can send the creditors copies of your discharge notice you can ask them to update your credit file in writing as it's now just a paper trails between your trustee and the original creditors, and from what I understand they should update the settled/satisfied dates to reflect when you entered the trust deed although I may be wrong as it seems I keep getting misinformed ! On a brighter note went to CAB today and they helped me out by giving me info I already knew but can't complain they did give me stamps to post my letters of complaint lol also spoke to my trustees and they are going to compile and gather all documentation records phone calls etc attaining to my case

Yeah all my default dates have been changed now to be no later than date TD was signed.

That said, they haven't updated the status to satisfied or partially satisfied despite the settlement letter going out to them about 12 weeks ago. My trustee is still not discharged either on AIB website which is slightly worrying.

Hi CIF,

That's a large limit to begin with especially when your credit rating may not be the best.

I guess it's about careful use and if so, a credit can be a useful thing to have not just for the credit but the added insurance protection when buying large items.

It just goes to show that credit is available after a Trust Deed.

That's good going very tempting with summer approaching to blow it on a holiday but just need to remember the grief of recent years to put you off, but if you take the 1k limit mind it will give your rating a dint for a few months till you can show use and payment

Sounds like cause for celebration

Hi David,

It's petrifying tbh, especially on top of the 2.5k I have with Vanquis just now. Awaiting to hear what my limit will be with Aqua.

Yes there is clearly credit available after TD!

You are right David - credit rating is still in the gutter. TD doesn't drop off till end of September.

I'll be careful with it Michelle. Don't want to return to stress and worry I had six years ago. Once was more than enough.
