Hi Scruffy

Like you I made my initial contact regarding a trust deed to Trust Deed Scotland.net which is part of Kelsom. I only found this out when my paperwork from my IP showed an introduction payment to Kelsom of ยฃ800. When I queried it I was told that it was for the half hour phone call I had with Trust Deed Scotland.net and for them passing my details on to my trustee firm which for me is RSM Tenon.

Hope this helps

My understanding is that Kelsom own that site.

I also understand that an insolvency practitioner has joined their team and that they are handling trust deeds in-house.

Kelsom has its own insolvency practitioners in house and ownes the trust deed scotland.net brand. Uncleben this forum is funded by the referral fees from the recommended insolvency firms exactly the same way as most trust deed websites. It is normal practice to do this.

Hello Tds1.

You are correct that this site is operated on a commercial basis, something visitors can read more about on our "fees" page. You're also correct that payments are often made by insolvency practitioner firms to different types of organisations that handle some of the work that is conducted on a case. This applies to debt charities as well as commercial providers of advice so I agree with you that this situation is common.

I think perhaps the scepticism that arises here comes down to the minority of intermediary businesses that will frankly say or do anything that they have to in order to get someone to the point that they sign a trust deed. That can be hugely damaging as we have sadly read here so often.
