Hi folks, does anyone have any idea as to long it would take for the AIB to process a creditors discharge notice? Also, if asked, will the AIB speak to a debtor to confirm that they have received correspondence on this from the trustee?

Hi SkintAlly.

Do you mean adding details to the Register of Insolvencies as provided to them by your trustee?

Yep, that's the one TDA ๐Ÿ™‚ I should have said debtors notice as opposed to creditors.

We've had lots of people here report very prompt updates to the online ROI SkintAlly.

I get the impression that the AIB is pretty efficient at processing this type of thing.

Has yours been held up?

It would seem so. I was advised that the letter was sent in December. I chased this last week but still don't see anything. I'm sure all is good but it's the final thing that I'm waiting for. I check the ROI everyday lol

Do you know if it was the Form 6 that was sent in December or the Form 7?

Hi Kevin,

I'm not sure which form it would have been. It was to advise them that they could record my discharge on the ROI and enable the trustee to issue the form 5. My trustee is still sorting out possible PPI claims etc so their part is still ongoing.

Ah I see.

I would check with your Trustee again SkintAlly as it shouldn't take this long.

Thanks Kevin, I will do. We spoke last week and he thought something was strange as it was taking so long. That's another week past though and I haven't heard anything else.

Hi SkintAlly

Re Form 5 ( your discharge ) The Trustee issues you with Form 5 which states you have completed the trust deed. He MUST also send a copy of the letter & form to the AIB for the Form 5 to be recorded. The discharge date is the date this is recorded.

It's a bit unusual if both you and the AIB have not received Form 5 and this would suggest it has not been sent.

Probably best to keep on at the Trustee to ensure this is sent.
