I have been on this site and my trust deed for a year now.I have to say that Plasticdaft's advice has always been both informative and helpful, as have others of course. But as you have now successfully completed your trust deed, isn't it about time you changed your user name to something more appropriate like ' Not so Plasticdaft'?
Just a thought !!
Once again, thankyou and keep up the good work. ๐
Great post
It's always a good combination, those who have been through it and those who deal with it, both on a daily basis. It should be a learning curve for both as 2 appointments are never the same.
Making the decision to proceed along this route should be considered carefully and it is important that both the IP and the individual work together for the duration of the Trust Deed period.
'It is certainly evident that a number of firms can't do enough to the point of signing and then it all goes to pot after signing. There is a basic guidance in the rules which state that which states:
In dealing with a trust deed the insolvency practitioner should
bear in mind an overriding duty to ensure a fair balance between
the interests of the debtor, the creditors and any other parties
involved......It should be remembered that although a trustee under the trust deed acts primarily for the benefit of creditors, he has a residual obligation to act in the interests of the debtor.'
