Thanks everyone for support, I'll keep u posted with how it all goes. I have to say its weird not having my overdraft to fall back on but also good that now I have to plan my spending and live within my means.
I have approx 11 months left in my trust deed. I intend on paying the remaining payments each month. I am also planning on emigrating to america at end of year. Will the fact that i am in a trust deed show up at the interview at immigration.
Hello Duncan.
Any country can impose whatever checks they wish when reviewing applications from potential immigrants.
There is a public record of your trust deed, and it would also show up on a credit report.
Whether the US authorities would choose to check either of these things I don't know so you may wish to check with the US embassy as to what their policies and procedures are.
A quick update, recieved a letter through the door saying that I am now protected!! Made my first payment this month so one down 35 to go!! Have now worked out all my finances so I know exactly where I am. No more worrying at the end of the month. I'm so glad that I've done this only wish I had considered it sooner. Good luck to everyone who has entered into a TD or is thinking about doing it. It's a big decision to make and by no means an easy one but its a big step in the right direction. ๐
Well done it's such a relief to know you're protected isn't it? We're all in this together for support, so can keep each other going at times of difficulty. Onwards and upwards as they say.
worriedme
Not so much no more worrying as its still a worrying and stressful time but becoming protected is a massive step. Now you just have to avoid cars blowing up,cookers breaking down, kids ruining school uniform, kids coming in asking for extra for trips etc etc etc.
Roll on month 36 Headwire,it will be here before you know it!!

Thanks to everyone for their replys. You're right Paul the stress isn't completely gone but at least now I know I'm living within a budget I can maintain and don't have to worry about finding the money for creditors each month. Fingers crossed no cookers or cars breaking down and hopefully no kids for a while yet! ๐
Hi guys I'm new to the forum also but the previous points made
More or less ask all
Of my questions except one. I
Am about to enter a trust deed but was wondering what happens when my current mortgage deal runs out? My credit rating will be really bad and am
Just wondering how I will be able to remortgage or even still stay with my current lender of which I owe debts to? Any help much apprecielated thanks
It is likely to be very difficult to remortgage in all honesty unless you have a substantial amount of equity at the time or funds to increase deposit size. Your query was relating to the mortgage deal running out, you are likely to carry on at the lender's SVR (Standard variable rate)
If however, you meant the mortgage term is coming to an end, you may need to enquire about a 'Term Amendment' Depending on the lender, many allow this up to a set age or retirement, varies though, you need to enquire with the lender concerned.
Hi there thanks for the reply I have 21 years left on my mortgage but was just wondering if it would effect a remortgage or if I were to stay with current lender? Remortgage is obvious now as my credit file would be checked , I've not really got a problem
Stayin with my lender just now for more years after my term is up next year , when my agreement runs out will it effect my current lender taking me on again big I have debts to them or would that not be an issue as long as my payments were up to date? Thanks
