Hi
I made my last payment on my Trust Deed with KPMG in November 2011. For the second year running, I have had a copy of a letter to my creditors saying I have completed my payments and they are still clearing up outstanding matters. I am getting rather sick of this, and despite having spoken to them, and, I think, written to them, they simply do not listen. How do I get this to stop??

Hi Raonaid

I think you need to speak with KPMG and find out exactly what matters are outstanding and don't accept the general matters' Ensure they give you specifics and a specific timescale for closing.

Hi Raonaid

As you signed after April 2008, then the process of discharge is simplified and you can be discharged while the Trustee remains in office to 'tidy up' any outstanding matters.

You should maybe put this to them.

I believe I did, and it has had no effect. I will try another letter, as phoning and saying this has had no effect.

Hi Raonaid.

The firm that you mention has been one of a few named here by visitors that have been unwilling to discharge clients while they deal with the "loose ends" of a case such as PPI.

However I think I've read here recently that this stance might have changed.

Keep making your case to them.

Any trustee has to be a member of a regulatory body (such as ICAS for example).

People can make complaints to the relevant regulatory bodies if they feel that using the complaints process at the firm itself hasn't resulted in an acceptable outcome.

I don't like to name drop and you may have already spoken to him but you may want to specifically ask to speak to Micheal Gray. You can have a guess at his email address. Call the main KPMG number for Glasgow and has for him you should get through.

I have found him very helpful in the past

Yes, I don't like to name drop either but he was one of the only people there who actually did what they said they would for me....

Dear All - I got my personal discharge on 25th November 2014 and now, they are finally closing my case. And thus, from signing my Trust Deed in September 2008, paying solidly for 3 years, till the end of 2011, I then had to wait a further 3 years to get my personal discharge, and another year to get the final discharge and the case closed, making it a total of 3.5 years beyond when I'd paid my last installment, meaning that the whole thing from signing till now, has taken nearly 7 years.Thank You KPMG for being slow, it has driven me crazy and slowed the improvement of my credit rating by far too long.

Hi Raonaid.

As far as you're concerned your own discharge is really the end of the matter. I wouldn't concern yourself regarding them discharging themselves, it's mostly irrelevant as far as you're concerned.

I do totally understand your frustration however - it seems very unfair given that you appear to have properly met all of your obligations.
