At last ........ finally .......... my credit report is clear, six months after it should have been.
In getting it clear, I have received three compensatory payments from different companies for the hassle and cost of getting it resolved and for paying for credit reference companies to check file. £650, £450 and £250.
How much money they must be wasting and giving away by not doing it properly first time. I felt guilty at first when they offered compensation since I had defaulted on money to them, but the effort to get them resolved was ridiculous and the last one was a technical problem with their system talking to one credit reference company system so it kept re-appearing until the first default date they had entered, irrespective of the number of times they changed it.
Anyway, Truly delighted to see it all clear. A long journey from making the initial decision in 2009, but does not seem so long in retrospect. A good period of time to adjust and change habits properly.
Onwards and Upwards!
Well done Firewalker....and on those payments!
Well done from me as well Firewalker.
Someone I know experienced a series of fraudulent credit applications being made in their name (some successful).
The effort required to sort out his credit file afterwards was extraordinary.
